Project Partners
For each of the three contracts a separate partnership charter was agreed upon by all parties involved. The partnership agreement included a mission statement and a list of shared objectives.
The mission statement for the Britomart Station:
“We, the Partners, will create a civic landmark for 21 st century Auckland that sets the benchmark for the future development of the Britomart Precinct and regional passenger transport systems. In doing so we will achieve excellence in health and safety practices, culture an environment that encourages breakthrough results, attain mutually beneficial objectives, do our utmost to satisfy stakeholders expectations, create a project that we can be proud of and bring credit to all parties involved.”

Occupational Safety & Health services
The Occupation Safety and Health Service, the government’s health and safety agency service, joined the Britomart team to provide ongoing feedback on workplace safety issues while retaining its statutory role.

Architects
Mario Madayag
Mario Madayag, in collaboration with Jasmax, won the international design competition from 153 entries. The winning design is emblematic of New Zealand’s geological, botanical and cultural icons.

Jasmax
Jasmax and Mario Madayag developed the competition ideas into over 300 working drawings. Jasmax has experience of large complex projects such as Te Papa Tongarewa and A+ Hospital.

City Design
City Design has a team of landscape architects, with a focus on streetscapes enhancement, urban design and visual assessment to maximise value.

Engineers
OPUS
Opus international consultants provided the bulk of the engineering muscle, designing the structure and building services such as ventilation, electrics and (with help from Ove Arup) fire fighting systems.

URS
URSNZ is the engineering designer of the rail track and signals in the new station. This specialist task has involved URS Corporation expertise from Canada and Australia.

Beca
Beca provided the day-to-day project and design management expertise, administering the work of the contractor and consultants. Beca’s engineers also providing geotechnical design.

Contractor
Downer Construction (NZ) Ltd
Downer Construction was the main contractor for the three contracts. Its team of direct employees and subcontractors constructed the consultants’ design on site to a strict programme and budget.
